About Lionel Talaro
Hi, My name is Lionel Talaro.
Educated at Art Center in Pasadena and the Art Institute at Calabasas, I began my career as a freelance illustrator in 1992. Having been influenced by past masters such as NC Wyeth, John Singer Sargent and Thomas Blackshear; I carried on a tradition of painting with dynamic composition and color palette. My painting subjects are showcased in dramatic lighting, color with attention to amazing detail. Having a story to tell in each painting is an important part of my painting process. I have a passion for music and you will find many of my subjects are music related.
I continued to work in the commercial industry and gained notoriety with projects for Disney, Darkhorse Publishers, Anheuser Busch, 20th Century Fox, to name a few. In 2002 I began to exhibit in galleries and gained momentum with collectors and commission clients nationwide. Finding more and more galleries were wanting to exhibit my work, I decided to become a full-time fine artist and now you can find my paintings in private collections and galleries worldwide.
I currently live and paint at home in La Mesa, California. I am happy to be working day and night. "No sleep till Brooklyn" is a mantra to me. Instilled to me by one of my favorite teachers of art and life. I find painting is a way of life.
I am available for commission paintings and mural projects of any subject matter and size. Satisfied clients are important to me and I work hard to keep it that way.
